Cruciferous Vegetables - these contain cancer fighting elements called indoles, isothiocyanates and flavonoids. Bring home broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, radishes and Brussel sprouts.

Carotenoids – deep orange and dark green vegetables carry disease-fighting phytochemicals. Yams, carrots, cantaloupe, winter squash, pumpkin, spinach, Swiss chard and kale all contain carotenoids.

Allyl Sulfides – the “onion” family contains allyl sulfides which are potent tumor fighters. Onions, garlic, leeks, scallions and shallots are all part of this family.
