Pump Up Your Day with These Heart Healthy Tips

  • Take the stairs instead of an elevator….start with one flight and  soon, you'll be ready for two.

  • Park your car at the far end of the parking lot. Walk to the store or school.

  • Spend a few minutes of your lunch break for a stroll around the block. It will help you stay awake after lunch.

  • Think of housework as an extra chance to exercise. Vacuuming briskly, washing windows, and hauling laundry baskets is a great workout.

  • Mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, raking leaves are chores that can be a great workout.

  • If you have a dog, think of it as an exercise machine with fur. A brisk walk with the dog each day is good for both of your hearts.


  • Go for an after-dinner walk with your family. Spend some quality time with your spouse and the kids.
