Weight Management
|
|
Since the mid-seventies, the prevalence of overweight and obesity
has increased sharply for both adults and children. Studies show that among adults aged 20-74 years
the prevalence of obesity increased from 15.0% to 32.9%.
As you know, being aware of your health status and personal health risks is the first step toward
becoming healthier – and ensuring a better quality of life over the long term. The good news is that even minimal
weight loss and exercise can improve or prevent complications associated with being overweight. By participating
in the Weight Management Program, you can improve your health and quality of life. The program helps
you to facilitate weight loss through diet, exercise and behavior modification. If desired, one of our
health coaches will help you implement changes to increase your quality of life.
Members who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 35 or greater will be invited to participate in the
Weight Management Program. This program provides counseling, educational materials, and other
